Clover Legends Stats Guide

The best stat in Clover Legends is Magic, because every grimoire spell is magic damage. Put the rest into Mana capacity until you can cast your full rotation, then Defense once bosses start one-shotting you. Melee only matters for close-range builds.

The four Clover Legends stats

Magic

Powers your grimoire. Every Z, X, C and V spell is magic, so this is the main damage stat for almost every build.

Mana capacity

How much mana you can store. It decides how many spells you can chain before you run dry, which matters most for expensive books.

Defense

Cuts the damage you take. Add it when bosses or PvP opponents kill you before your rotation comes back.

Melee

Your basic weapon and fist attacks. Melee Mastery arrived on September 22 for players who fight up close between spells.

  • Available stat points at the top shows what you can still spend. You earn points as your character levels.
  • Press the + next to Melee, Defense, Magic or Mana capacity to add points.
  • Add per tap sets how many points each press adds. Use a small number when you only have a few points.
  • Auto assign spends new points for you. Switch it off to control your build.
  • Reset Stats returns your points so you can rebuild, for example after switching grimoires.
Character level vs book level

Stat points come from your character level. Your grimoire’s spells come from its own book level: X at book level 10 and C at 20. Pumping Magic does not unlock spells; only fighting with the book does.

Mana cost of each grimoire’s rotation

This is the total mana to cast every spell of a book once. The higher it is, the more Mana capacity that grimoire wants before you go all-in on Magic.

Mana per full rotation at three leaves. Four leaves cut it to 0.9× and five leaves to 0.8×, so an awakened Light rotation drops from 160 to 128 mana. Anti-Magic starts at five leaves.

Best Clover Legends stat builds

Burst caster (Light, Dark)

Magic first, Mana capacity second. Both books spend 160–170 mana per rotation, so make sure you can cast Divine Rain or Dimension Slash before topping up Magic.

Support (World Tree)

Mana capacity first, then Magic. World Tree burns 235 mana per rotation, the most of any book, and Tree of Life alone costs 100.

PvP (Anti-Magic)

Magic and Defense. Anti-Magic Slash costs only 15 mana on a 2-second cooldown and the book starts at five leaves, so you can lean on Defense to survive duels.

Budget Rare (Lightning, Chain)

Mostly Magic. A full rotation costs 55–64 mana, so Lightning and Chain need far less Mana capacity than the Legendary books.

Starter book (Fire, Water, Wind)

Magic only. Rotations cost 35–45 mana. Leave Auto assign on until you roll a better book, then reset.

Melee hybrid

Melee and Defense. Only worth it if you fight with basic attacks between spells and are leveling Melee Mastery.

Races that change your stat plan

  • High Elf: +12% max mana and −25% cooldown, so you need less Mana capacity.
  • True Devil: +15% damage, +12% crit damage and +8% mana regen on top of Magic.
  • Seraph: +15% health regen and +18% move speed, which covers for low Defense.

Clover Legends stats FAQ

What are the best stats in Clover Legends?

For most players Magic is the best stat, because every grimoire spell is magic damage. Put enough into Mana capacity to cast your full rotation, then add Defense only when you start dying. Melee is for players who fight up close with basic attacks.

How many stats are there?

Four: Melee, Defense, Magic and Mana capacity. You earn stat points as your character levels and spend them in the Stats menu.

Can you reset stats in Clover Legends?

Yes. The Stats menu has a Reset Stats button that returns your allocated points so you can spend them again. Reset when you switch to a grimoire with a very different mana cost.

Should I use Auto assign?

Auto assign is fine while you learn the game. Turn it off once you pick a grimoire, so your points go where your build needs them instead of being spread out.

How much Mana capacity do I need?

Enough to cast every spell you use in one fight. World Tree needs the most at 235 mana for one full rotation, Dark needs 170 and Light 160, while Fire needs only 36. Leaves lower the cost: four leaves cost 0.9× mana and five leaves 0.8×.
